Shower arms and ceiling connections for the shower head
If the shower head in the shower is not attached to a complete shower system, you will need to use a concealed installation and a separate shower arm that simultaneously provides the mounting and water supply for the shower head. The shower arm is often included with the shower head, but not with all models. Depending on the distance that needs to be covered, it may need to be shorter or longer. The standard length is between 25 and 35 centimetres and is sufficient for most showers. For ceiling mounting, there are ceiling connectors that can be screwed together to hang the shower head lower (e.g. for high ceilings). When selecting the shower arm, however, it is not only the size of the shower that matters, but also the size of the shower head. If you have a shower head with a diameter of 30cm, a longer shower arm would be recommended so that the shower head does not come too close to the wall. Otherwise, you will mainly wet the tiles with it and a bit of shower comfort will be lost. Before buying, consider whether the arm should have an internal or external thread. The thread size itself is standardized, and usually the shower arm has an external thread and the shower head an internal thread, but this may vary in individual cases.
