What characterizes the NMC Climaflex Stabil drain insulation ?

The NMC Climaflex Stabil drain insulation consists of closed-cell polyethylene-based foam and has a robust outer skin; with an inner sliding film, it is also easy to process. The insulation is used mainly for structure-borne sound insulation and to reduce Flow noise in cast iron pipes (SML) and plastic pipes (HT), but also protects against condensation and thus against corrosion.

Which pipe diameter do I need?

The pipe diameter that you can select in the variant selection is dependent on the circumference of the pipe to be protected. If in doubt, measure the circumference of the pipe or consult your plumber. In general, you need a 50mm protective hose for a pipe with a circumference of 50mm, a 70mm protective hose for a pipe with a circumference of 70mm, etc.

How do I choose the right insulation thickness?

The thickness of the insulation depends entirely on how much a pipe needs to be soundproofed . 4mm of insulation is sufficient for residential areas where you don't have too many noise insulation requirements – such as a basement or laundry room. However, if a wastewater pipe runs through a central wall and over several floors of a house, 9mm of insulation is recommended .
