Toilet seats
Toilet seats: What should I consider when buying one?
There are a few things to consider before buying a toilet seat – especially if you don't want to buy a universal seat. First of all, you need to know that not every toilet seat can be mounted on every toilet. For example, the seat of a Villeroy & Boch Subway 2.0 toilet cannot be installed on a normal Subway toilet, and you certainly cannot combine different manufacturers. Then there are many toilets in a shortened form, so-called compact toilets, for which there are again separate seats. So you can see that it's not that easy. Before you buy, you need to know which toilet you have. It's best if you know the article number, which may be on the invoice or sometimes branded onto the underside of the ceramic. If you are not sure which model it is, a call to the manufacturer will help, who can identify the toilet based on the dimensions and/or the year of manufacture. This way, you will ultimately find out which toilet seats fit and avoid making a bad purchase. Tip: Many models are already available for a few pennies more with the convenient soft-closing mechanism.
