Tangit PVC-U Adhesive

Solvent-based adhesive made from methyl ethyl ketone and cyclohexanone for bonding thermoplastic pressure piping systems (up to 40°C) and non-pressurized piping systems made from PVC-U

Intended use:

• Perfect for installation and repair work (e.g. on guttering)
• For bonding thermoplastic pressure piping systems made of rigid PVC (drinking water) – according to EN 1452
• Suitable for non-pressurized piping systems (waste water) – according to EN 1329
• Ideal for construction bonding of PVC sheet material (e.g. drip pans, housing bases)

Processing instructions:

• Cut the tube end square, bevel the outside (15°) and deburr
• Pre-clean and dry the bonding surfaces. Mark the tube insertion depth on the tube end
• Apply Tangit Cleaner PVC-U/PVC-C/ABS to absorbent paper towels and thoroughly clean the dry bonding surfaces. Replace the paper towels after each cleaning process
• Apply Tangit adhesive to both surfaces using a brush in a longitudinal direction (thin on molded part, thicker on pipe end), join the pipe and molded part without twisting or warping within the open time and hold for a few seconds
• Do not subject the connection to mechanical loads for at least 5 minutes after joining
• Lower glued pipes into the trench no earlier than 10–12 hours after the last gluing
• Waiting time before commissioning and pressure testing for new installations after 24 hours. In the event of repair, per bar 1 hour waiting time

Special instructions:

• Avoid naked flames and sparking at all costs
• Ventilate the work area well
• Wear suitable protective clothing when working
